Instagram LogoAbsolutely thrilled to share my interview with powerful #singleparent and business woman Deborah Drummond. We covered a lot of ground in this conversation! (Link in bio). Deborah has found success running both independent and network marketing businesses and she is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to how to create success from nothing. Her out-of-the-box thinking has enabled her to thrive as both a single parent and as an entrepreneur. She's raised two children, built 7 businesses and spends much of her time supporting other women in business. Among the wisdom she shares during our conversation: • What can happen when you trust your intuition • How hardship can drive us to greatness • The changing face of work and motherhood • Positives and Negatives of Direct Sales • The power of getting clear about what you want and surrounding yourself with the right support network • Her best advice for success as a single parent And so much more!! Follow the link in my bio to watch the interview and visit Youtube to: • Get her book for just 99 cents on Amazon (until October 1). And see the latest @deborahldrummond post to get the link for the book's launch party, happening Friday, Oct. 1 from 5-7pm PST. Instagram LogoI've been up since 1:15 this morning... on purpose. It's for a full-day training that's taking place in another time zone. This is not something I do regularly because: • I'm very strict with my self-care and I believe pulling all nighters is best left in the 90s with my younger, childless self. • I am the lone adult in my household and I need to function well for my son. • I also just really like a full night's sleep But I knew this training was worth getting up at 1:15 am for. So I committed. I registered, got my son and myself to bed as early as I could last night, and got up when the alarm went off. See, I have a goal to be the best coach I can be and to build a business of impact. And sometimes that's going to mean doing things I don't especially want to do. Things that mean reorganizing my life a bit. Things that make me uncomfortable. I do this also because it's what I ask my clients to do. And I simply can't ask them to do anything I wouldn't do myself. What are you willing to do to reach your goals? And how do you balance that with taking care of yourself? The photo is me, bright eyed and bushy tailed, with my cup of wake up juice at 1:30 am. :) #business #training #goals #commitment #coachinglife #hpcevents #singleparentsuccess
Instagram LogoSingle parenting then and now: In this interview with Helen Rose, we talk about our experiences of single parenting a generation apart. The comparison was interesting, but the thing that struck me most was that we both, in spite of the struggles, decided to be the mistresses of our destiny, to shoot for our dreams and not be held back by our circumstances. Enjoy listening to this powerful and at times funny conversation. Link in my bio. Instagram LogoShortly after my son was born, I bought a beautiful red bike trailer/stroller. I know it’s not most people’s dream purchase, but for me, it was. The trailer was a symbol of me staying true to myself because I could no longer be a lone cyclist; I was transformed into a cyclist who Mothers. I was determined to keep one of the most important parts of my lifestyle—my fitness. I would not be relegated to driving a vehicle everywhere just because I had a child. Though I didn’t know it yet, I was making a decision according to one of my core values. A few years later, when I discovered what core values were and consciously identified mine, my choices around cycling (through, rain, wind, snow and pregnancy) over the years suddenly made so much sense. More importantly, I was able to use this newfound knowledge to make better choices for myself and my family, and I started to feel more confident about my decisions. I'd had a major habit of second-guessing myself in the past, so having this handy list of values gave me an important new tool by which to start trusting my own judgement. If you have a tough time trusting your ability to make the “right” choice or want to better understand why you make the choices you do, join me for a WORKSHOP TOMORROW that will help you develop your unique internal guidance system. Instagram LogoIt always feels good when a client completes their journey with me feeling like they've made this kind of progress: "Working with Carmel led me to some powerful mindset shifts and a clear vision for the road ahead. Quite quickly, I started to see myself as ‘myself’ again, rather than the stereotype of a single parent simply trying to survive. And with a clear vision of the growth I wanted to see in my life, I was able to create a plan to achieve it. Meeting with Carmel kept me on track, strengthened me, and helped me find the courage to take some big steps that felt scary but led to tremendous breakthroughs. What a gift!" -C.G.
