2021 CFC100 DE Tristan Marois is the full package. Just this last week he took apart a 4 star prospect from Brentwood Academy down in Tennessee. It was quite an impressive show. He was super active, literally all over the field. This 6'6" 205lbs end is explosive, twitchy, and won't disappoint. Playing at Clearwater Academy International, Marois is originally from Montreal, Quebec. Look for him to garner increased interest this year.

SOUTH OF THE BORDER HEADLINES

In what was technically week 2 of college football action, some big name teams had their first games. FBS teams featuring Canadian players in their two-deep depth chart this week were West Virginia (S Alonzo Addae, DT Akheem Mesidor), Syracuse (LB Geoff Cantin-Arku, OL Matthew Bergeron, S Ben Labrosse, OL Patrick Davis), UNC (CB Patrice Rene), Pittsburgh (REC Jared Wayne), Coastal Carolina (LB Enock Makonzo, DE Wilt Gabe), and Texas State (DT Sam Obiang). Notably, edge rusher Tyrell Richards wasn’t listed on the Syracuse depth chart for an undisclosed reason.

Some 2021 draft prospects and potential CFC40s got some action in week 2. Perhaps having the most impressive day of the group was Alonzo Addae, free safety for West Virginia and top 2021 CFL draft prospect, who had 7 tackles, a pass breakup, and a highlight reel pick. Cornerback Patrice Rene, former top 2020 CFL draft prospect who tore his ACL and reclassified to 2021, started for the Tar Heels this week but didn’t log any stats.

In offer news this week, CFC100 QB Miguel Camboia got the ball rolling with his first offer from Maryland. The 5’11, 165lbs pivot moved down to Alabama, a region that’s still playing football this year, to play football for this season. With the class of 2023 prospect already having an offer under his belt this early, you have to think more are on the way.

Missing a years worth of film because of injury ... Or maybe a worldwide pandemic? You're gonna have to double down on your next possible season so you're going to send out weekly highlights to coaches across the country, and then at the end of the year have enough set out for your season highlights - so you're going to be busy whenever the government allows a season to commence.

BOTTOM LINE:

Keep putting more film up on your page if you have any recent tape. If you don't have any film, well then you're going to have to basically really double down this/next season ... Let's hope it's the former instead of the latter, right?

EVENTS by CFC

CFC has completed the second round of the CFC Prospect Game Selection Camps and CFC100 Tryout and Showcases across the country. There were some fantastic performances as athletes were dedicated to their training in the midst of the pandemic. Some of these athletes will see their stock rise on the CFC Prospect Rankings as well as push themselves on to the CFC Prospect Game roster that is broadcast on TSN. That roster will be released late September to early October.
