OFFER THAT GUY

2022 CFC100 DE Isaiah Hastings out of Clarkson Football North in Ontario is just the guy you want pressuring the quarterback...or destroying him. The 6'5" 260lbs QB smasher has a 7'0 wingspan, how could you not at least look him up. This kid is explosive. His initial quickness is evident, just look at his 2020 training camp highlights at FN. He's always working, always hustling, and has great instincts. For serious, he's legit!

Our take:

  • Has a great frame, long levers
  • Explosive, great initial quickness
  • Uses his hands well and does a great job finding the ball
  • Probably projects as a 3-tech going forward

SOUTH OF THE BORDER HEADLINES

  • CFC100 Class 2021 (and apparently big-time scholar) Luke Foster announced his commitment to Yale this past week. The 6’4”, 245lbs tight end held 16 offers, including Rutgers, Buffalo, and Eastern Michigan, prior to making his decision on the Ivy League school. Going to what could be seen as the most academically prestigious school in the world, even if his pro football career doesn’t work out, expect for him to be making tons of money in his adulthood.

  • The Mid-American Conference and Mountain West conference have become the first two FBS conferences to postpone their season to the spring of 2021. Many Canadians play in these conferences and will therefore be impacted, but it’s very likely that the moving of the fall seasons by these conferences are just the first dominoes to fall, and other conferences will follow suit.

  • CFC100 Class 2022 #2 ranked Edwin Wilson Tara Kolenge picked up offer #11 this week from South Carolina. The 6’3”, 225lbs linebacker made the move down south for his 2020 season and will be attending a school in Florida. He has also recently been ranked a 4-star recruit by ESPN, in addition to reportedly garnering interest from Notre Dame, from which standout receiver Chase Claypool just moved onto the NFL.

RECRUITING TIP

Most popular questions from recruits this week?

Guidance counselor? It might be the last faculty member you think of on the staff, but they are actually the most valuable asset on campus - especially for student-athletes. A lot of prospects know they want to play at the next level, and most have zero ideas about what it takes in the classroom in order to get there. Not only that, they are also wizards when it comes to receiving scholarships, bursaries or any sort of financial help you may need.

BOTTOM LINE:

Why should your guidance counselor be your best friend? They're the one's who're going to make sure the recruiting process goes off without a hitch.
