OFFER THAT GUY
Our take: The veil's been lifted on CFC100 Class of 2022 tight end/defensive end Mohammed Hazime and enlightenment has settled on the recruiters down south who all of a sudden seemed to discover what we've known for a while now...or at least Eastern Michigan has who offered Hazime earlier this month.
In episode 38 of CFCs 'Recruiting Masters' podcast, Katie and Clint Uttley get into Hazime in a bit more detail, but Uttley's Top Prospects say that he has an awesome frame that is filling out before our eyes. He's extremely athletic and agile, with outstanding body control and the ability to recover and redirect...can definitely bend his knees and explode out of his stance. He has every bit the tool box to develop into an offensive tackle and would be tremendous at that.

TOP PROSPECTS of the week
Today Katie Uttley catches up with Mississauga, ON native ATH Josh Farquharson, who's taken an old school approach to training throughout the pandemic working with former NFL and NCAA athletes.
Kato and Josh discuss how he fell in love with the sport at the age of four while watching his brother play from the sidelines, how much he's been enjoying the recruiting process so far, and how he deals with the outside pressures and influences ... there's always another party right?

SOUTH OF THE BORDER HEADLINES
- In the NFL divisional playoff round, all Canadians were officially knocked out of Super Bowl contention with Taylor Rapp’s Rams and David Onyemata’s Saints losing to the Packers and the Buccaneers, respectively. Onyemata had 3 tackles in the game, while Rapp was still on injured reserve, causing him to miss his matchup.
- CFC100 CB Patrice Rene announced that he’s transferring from North Carolina to Rutgers for his final year of eligibility. Reportedly, his decision came down to Auburn, Oklahoma, and Rutgers, but his ties to the Rutgers program (the likes of CFC100 DE Wesley Bailey and CFC100 DE Rene Konga) led him to make the Scarlet Knights his new team.
- Lots of Canadians made their all-conference teams in the 2020 season, with the Big 12 leading in terms of Canadian content. CFC100s Alonzo Addae, Akheem Mesidor, Chuba Hubbard, and Amen Ogbongbemiga all made the All-Big 12 teams, while CFC40 Alaric Jackson and CFC100 Chase Brown made the All-Big 10 team. Over in the MAC, CFC100 Sidy Sow and CFC60 Mohamed Diallo made their all-conference team too.
RECRUITING TIP
Most popular questions from recruits this week?
Most prospects have an idea about what position they'd like to play, but reality is different once everybody straps on the pads. The most obvious indicator is height and weight compared to your age group. Are you 6'4", 140lbs? Than you'll likely be playing receiver or defensive back. Are you 6'1", 275lbs? Than you'll likely be playing in the trenches. Height and weight are the best indicator, but it only breaks prospects up into position groups.
BOTTOM LINE:
Every coach wants to put his players in the best position to win, and sometimes this can cause conflicts with a prospect's future potential. You could have the best arm on your community football team and win multiple championships, but that might not be the best position for you at the next level.
