Have you thought of what you have been called to?

Hello dear,

I shared a very touching story on my timeline a few days ago and promised to tell you my learnings from it.

If you missed it, please

Read it Here!

Now, what are the learnings?

I’ll start with the most obvious -

1. EVERYONE HAS A GIFT.

The young boy in the story, Ferdinand, was said to have spastic cerebral palsy. I’m coming let me look that up. 👉🏾 Spastic cerebral palsy is a developmental disorder caused by damage to the brain before birth, during delivery, or within the first few years of life. This condition prevents the normal development of motor function. Spastic CP is characterized by jerky movements, muscle tightness, and joint stiffness.

So despite this obvious limitation, this boy went and did wonders with chess! Wow! Think about how the jerky movements may have affected him? Yet he shone through! What is your excuse again?

2. YOUR GIFT WILL MAKE A WAY FOR YOU.

The gift of an amazing chess brain brought this boy before kings (Governor Sanwo-Olu) and even earned him a cash gift and all his siblings lifetime educational scholarships! Talk about making a way! Wow! It is imperative that everyone finds their gift! Like you’re shortchanging yourself and your children if you don’t! Start digging into your mind’s recesses and find the gift of your children and yours too!

Now to the learning that struck me the most!

3. DO YOUR PART, START YOUR MINISTRY!

And here I want to shift from the boy star and focus on the writer of that piece, Tunde Onakoya. If he did not start his Chess in the Slums project, how would Ferdinand be liberated today?

⛔️ If he had thought Chess is probably not what hungry children need, let me face my front, where would Ferdinand be today?

⛔️ If he had started and been so discouraged by the slowness of the children to grasp it or the lack of support via funding or the host of other things that could have discouraged him, where would Ferdinand be today?

⛔️ If he had been second-guessing himself when he felt the nudge to start Slums in Africa… you guessed it - where would Ferdinand be today??

I’m sure by now you get my point!

And if you don’t, I’ll go a little further.

WHAT IS THAT THING THAT GOD HAS LAID IN YOUR HEART TO DO?

What is stopping you from starting?

Or perhaps you’ve started and are discouraged and about to quit.

Well God is sending you this message today to say He sees you and He has sent you to one person. And till that person is touched you have to keep at it!

Some of us are sent to one.

Others to one hundred, some to ten thousand.

Even if like Shamgar (Judges 3:31) you’ve been sent to slay only 600 when others were slaying ten thousand; do it excellently! And your reward is sure. Because today when the roll call of judges of Israel is being read, Shamgar is listed.

Tomorrow when Ferdinand’s story is being told, Tunde Onakoya will be mentioned. Make yourself feature in someone’s story today! Their lives may very well depend on you!

Do not be discouraged. Press on. Pursue your message. God sees you!

Have a fantastic week!

I’m rooting for you!

P.s. I'm writing a book about overcoming inertia and getting back control of your life. Does it sound like what you would want to read? The title is - The Diary of a Former Lazy Girl. Let me know your thoughts.....
