THE THREE R’s THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

When you hear of three R's, I bet you thought I was talking about Recycle, Reduce, Reuse.... the Three Rs of going green? Well they are actually 6 Rs now.... but hold that thought!

Today, I want to tell you about the 3 R’s of getting your life on track. They are Rest, Reflect, Rejuvenate.
Life can get very busy. Especially living in a busy city like Lagos and generally being caught up in the legitimate “hustle”.
This brings us to the first R - rest.
REST - The dictionary defines this as “to cease work or movement in order to relax, sleep or recover strength.”
This is a God-given command. We are to take breaks periodically to rest. BecauSe the body, like all machines needs a period of shut down from time to time to recover strength.
How are you resting? Do you sleep 7hours a day? Okay, you may not be able to. Do you pause regularly to take a break? Once a month? Once a year? When was your last holiday?
REFLECT - The dictionary defines this as “to think deeply or carefully about (something)”
Why do you need to reflect? It is said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
So how do you know when to change your tactics if you don’t reflect on your present methods?
The act of reflection puts you ahead of others because thinking deeply makes you see what is working and what needs change.
REJUVENATE- The dictionary defines this as “to restore to an original or new state”. Synonyms are Restore, Renew, to make something better.
This is pretty self explanatory. After you have reflected and seen what needs to change, the next reasonable action is to renew and make things better.
How do you change your life? By changing your daily habits.
Your life is a sum total of your everyday decisions.
So a decision to rest, reflect and rejuvenate each decided cycle (you choose) is enough to change your life for the better.
Note this is not a hall pass for you to start being lazy, saying Brenda said you should rest. It is just a call to action. Do not slave your life away. Remember to pause and breathe. You Matter.
Just as we are trying to save the planet, we are interested in saving you too!
