New Month, what will you do differently?

Holla!
How are you doing today? What's new in the new month? Read on to see my charge for you.....
“Gather ye rosebuds while ye may” is the first line from a poem I learnt as a little girl in primary (or was it secondary school?)
I remember chanting it for the longest time and it stuck because of the message. Something brought it to my remembrance recently.
In December 2019, we had a huge family party that was so stressful as most of the family members came from outside the country and most of the planning was on me. The party was a huge success and everyone was satisfied.
To thank me for a seamless hosting, my husband asked me in January of 2020 to get visas to Singapore as we both needed to go and chill out for some days.
My analytical mind went into overdrive. Ah! We had just spent so much money on the party. Then it was January- school fees time.
By February, my daughter was to turn 10. By July I was to turn 40. Both milestones that would cost money to celebrate.
And there was still summer trip for the whole family to consider. 🙆🏾♀️
As a loving and understanding wife, I asked my husband to skip the Singapore January trip and save money for the other “more important” things coming up. He was unhappy but accepted.
We all know what happened next. COVID hit in March 2020 so the parties and trips I had planned - all didn’t hold.
Had I gone on that trip in January, I would have had the rest we needed and also the vacation that was due. But no. I didn’t “seize the day”!
“Gather ye Rose-buds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to day,
To morrow will be dying.”
- Culled from the poem "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time" by Robert Herrick.
The Bible takes it a notch higher -
“He who gathers during summer and takes advantage of his opportunities is a son who acts wisely, But he who sleeps during harvest and ignores the moment of opportunity is a son who acts shamefully.”
Proverbs 10:5 AMP
Yours might not be a trip. It might be a business or career opportunity. Do you work hard and smart, positioning yourself to take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way? Or do you just sit back and relax, saying “if this one passes, another will come by?” The Bible says that is a person who acts shamelessly.
This is the month of March. It is the third month of the first quarter of the year. Please pull out your goal planner. What did you schedule for Q1? How far gone are you? What do you need to amend? Fast track? Or strike out?
Review and reset are critical parts of achieving your goals. Review your goals today and remember to seize the day!
Do you remember my TV interview? There's a replay if you missed it. It's less than 15 mins, but I promise you will love it.
