Why you should show up everytime.

Hello!
I've missed writing to you for a while now. I apologize, things have been a little overwhelming for me. But I'm back now and thought to catch up with you.
The last two weeks have been very intense for me. Battling all manner of issues, I had to drop off the grid, only surfacing to celebrate my angels on their birthdays (3rd and 4th February).
Now, even though before the birthday and perhaps after I had been quiet, the things that were to come to me didn’t pass me by.
Interesting stuff. Because of something I had resolved to do always - SHOW UP.
I’ll tell you a story.
You cannot meet me and forget me. I’m sure you’ll agree. I used to be told I talk too much, I am too this or that. And I would hide. Make myself smaller, just so that others would be comfortable.
Till I read in the Bible that I am the light of the world. And that no one lights a lamp and keeps it under a bushel!
Wow! What freedom! I am meant to shine and show up! Oh, how I accepted myself from then. Anyone who can’t stand my light, I’m gonna be handing you some shades!
So how did this my "showing up" work out for me recently? I was off the grid, like I said, yet a popular coach whose program I had signed up for last year (and distinguished myself while at it) reached out to me by phone to be part of his testimonial session. Wow. He had sent me a message on Instagram that I missed so he found my number.
This exposed me to over 200 new persons and by the time I was done with my five-minute speech, my Instagram followers had received a noticeable jump!
How would this have happened if I had hidden under the radar during the course? Or not given my best and been noticed?
How? Tell me? I wasn’t even in his face for him to remember me. I’d been off the grid!
So what’s my charge to you today? Every day, whatever thy hands find to do, do it excellently. Wherever you are, shine like the star that you are. Give of yourself genuinely, love people and help them. Do your bit. Your reward is not far ahead. I believe in you and I’m rooting for you!
I'll be a guest on an Instagram Live series by Temitope Olagbegi tonight at 6 pm. I shall be talking about How to build self-love in your kids using the five love languages.
You know I'm a mother of four right? Come and listen to my perspective on this and be blessed. It's live on Instagram by 6 pm. My handle is @brenda.unu. See you there!
Cheers,
Your favorite girl,
Brenda Unu
