[BF #048] discovered any good apps past year?

(1-minute read)

Let me quickly show you how I visualise my work and map out projects I am working on.

I am not the one to switch my apps a lot, especially when it comes to stuff like browsers or emails. Years ago, I moved to Gmail and Chrome, from Outlook and Firefox, and I am just lazy to move again. Even when someone is glorifying something new, I am just too comfortable with making a move. Again.

I say again, even though it was ten years ago! 🤣🤣

But when it comes to productivity apps, or phone apps for taking notes, reminders, task lists, all that jazz - I want to try them all! 🙃🙃

If there's something that will make my day-to-day operations more manageable, I'll give it a go. There are some apps and sites I regularly use, like:

Trello

I track every project in this Kanban-style board. It gives me a quick overview of where I am, what I need to do next, and it works really nice with attaching files, setting reminders, due dates and sharing with clients.

Miro Board

This is a great tool to work with your team on project timelines, roadmap, and brainstorm using a ton of ready templates for things like agile workflow, user research, meeting notes, remote sprint, etc.

I even used it to create a something like a mind map of where I focus my energy work and career-wise and keep track of the main components. Each of these elements has its own corresponding Trello board. There's a similar map for personal development and stuff I do unrelated to "work". I've blurred out some sensitive info and future stuff that I'm working on at the moment.

Recently I was recommended a cool mind map app called "Mindly App" that could potentially expand on this and give me a bit more options to add interactivity around tasks and goals with this map, and I look forward to trying it out in the next few weeks.

What are the apps you use daily?

Is there some small app that solves just one thing for you, but you really like it? Like for example, I use "Be Focused" (ios/osx) as my Pomodoro tracker, because it syncs over desktop and phone.

Let me know - I want to try them out.

Have a great day!
