She hesitated at the study door. Every time her hand reared back to knock, she stopped herself. A pounding heart prevented her from following through. She remembered how they splashed and played in the pool. His smile emanated playful mischief, a side she was certain he rarely showed anyone. Imagining what it was like for him to put his arms around her, her heart beat even faster. The Ambassador was handsome indeed, and he had a hard body to boot. Arousal lingered in her panties just thinking about it. Before she had a chance to attempt another knock, he opened the door. Having to look all the down to see her, she noticed that same grin, the one she saw before at the pool. 

“You’re early,” he said.

She could tell that was pleasing to him. Any type of regimented man would agree with her on that. Normally, he was all business, but he welcomed her into the study in a way she didn’t expect. He was casual and laid back, his smile soft and eyes that sparkled when he smiled. She began to put up her easel and lessons, and he looked on with a quiet admiration. Words unspoken, she felt a strange sense of comfortability. 

“I admire how prepared you are, but you didn’t have to make things so formal,” he said.  

Who was she talking to anyway? This man had made her scramble to get this done, to show him that she was a stable and adequate governess and instructor, and now he was telling her not to be formal? This was entirely out of character for him. 

“Not at all, Mr. Ambassador,” she said, continuing to unpack her things. 

“I told you to call me Tobias,” he said, placing his hand over hers.
