Imagine a refinery plant that started to receive a feed at with different physical properties and vapor pressure. The plant operation team began noticing unusual noises and vibrations emanating from a critical control valve. This valve played a pivotal role in regulating the flow to a critical piece of equipment. This led to many operational issues, and the issue had to be investigated as soon as possible.
