SHE STARTED MAKING BRACELETS DURING THE PANDEMIC. SIX YEARS LATER, SHE'S BUILDING SOMETHING BIGGER FOR BLACK WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS.
Ladies,
I want to introduce you to a woman in our community whose story probably feels familiar to more entrepreneurs than we realize.
Her name is Tayla Holman.
Tayla is the Boston-based founder of LoveStoned Jewelry Co. and, more recently, The Table We Built.
But neither started with some grand business plan.
Before entrepreneurship, Tayla earned her master's degree in health communication and was working as an editor for a health IT website while freelancing for healthcare companies.
Then she started making gemstone bracelets.
At first, they were for herself.
She actually made one for abundance and confidence that she wore while interviewing for jobs.
She eventually landed a new position with a significant pay increase.
Her response?
Maybe it was a coincidence. ๐
But she wasn't going to argue with the result.
Then the pandemic hit.
Tayla was working in COVID communications and began making more jewelry as a way to deal with the stress and anxiety surrounding her work.
