My fitness watch says my effort is moderate- seriously?
Sep 30, 2025 1:16 pm
Good morning ,
How do you decide how much effort something was? My fitness watch calls my morning run "moderate".
Seriously? Getting up at 6 and leaving the house to run for literally no reason other than it's good for me (well I do like running, but generally at 6 in the morning, I like blankets and coffee more).
The watch is limited, it can only measure the physical effort it records. The motivation and satisfaction I get from doing it are something I have to notice for myself.
That's why I talk about the Energy Equation for your business. Time and money are necessary resources for your business and lots of folks will help you measure them-tools, tips and tricks galore, And like my watch, those methods are not tracking YOUR energy to use and benefit from those other investments.
Business as UNusual this week
Beyond Data with Daniel Nikic
What if the very investors fueling your growth could also become your biggest risk? In this episode of Business as UNusual, Aicila sits down with Daniel Nikic—investment research pro and founder of Korus—to reveal what most founders and investors get wrong about venture capital, private equity, and the shifting landscape shaped by AI.
Daniel breaks down the hidden dangers of outside funding, why due diligence is more than AI-powered spreadsheets, and how founders can navigate the high stakes of global markets without losing their company’s soul. If you’ve ever wondered where investing ends and real business strategy begins, this episode will challenge the usual playbook and offer a fresh perspective on what it truly takes to thrive—unusually—in today’s business world.
And remember- stay unusual-- Aicila
