Find out your "WHY"

Hi ,

I hope you are doing well and safe.

As we all know, things are still uncertain. We don’t know when these things will end. As someone who overthinks a lot, I try to distract myself from negative thoughts and try to do activities aside from work. During this pandemic, I joined a class on Theology of the Body (TOB).

I can still remember that day back in college when I attended my first talk on the TOB with my friends. I felt the pressure to attend because my friends were also there. However, I did not regret attending that one session.

When I found out that there is a 10-session course on that last year, I immediately signed up. Up to date, it is still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. As someone too shy and timid like me, I am not used to conversing with people a lot. From that course, we talked freely about topics that are not really being discussed in a normal setup. We discussed concepts on human dignity, our reason of being, relationships in general and how they relate with our faith.

I realized that we have a special vocation, we are called for something greater. As St. Therese of Lisieux said, “The world’s thy ship, and not thy home.” We are created by God in His image and likeness, and we are made to be happy. That is my reason for living.

I know that there’s a lot of things happening now because of the pandemic. However, I still encourage you to give this a shot- this is something worthwhile.

Prayers for you and your loved ones.

Best,

Kyra
