Dear ,
I pray you are doing well.
Since October is the month of the Holy Rosary, I would like to talk to you about it.
The Holy Rosary is one of my favorite Norms of Piety and has been a part of my everyday life. From grade school to high school, we would always pray the Holy Rosary after our flag ceremony.
I got used to it without really thinking deeply about why we pray it.
My perception about it changed when I attended this retreat. Praying the Holy Rosary helps us deepen our love for Our Mother Mary.
What do we mean by that?
Praying the Holy Rosary is praying with Our Mother Mary, who is our role model for contemplation.
Mary has been always my #Lodi when it comes to virtues, family life, and even love life. I admire everything about her- her humility, faithfulness, obedience, charity, purity, and modesty.
I always wanted to show my love and devotion for her. And that is through the Holy Rosary.
As Pope Francis has mentioned:
"The Rosary is the prayer of the humble and of the saints. In its mysteries, they contemplate, along with Mary, the life of Jesus, the merciful face of the Father."
From that retreat, I wanted to share some of my notes and lights with you:
- We have to pray the Holy Rosary as if we are praying for the first time- eliminating that monotonous tone we have as we recite those Hail Marys- never getting tired of repeating its prayers, just like people who are in love.
- Offering each bead as if we are offering roses to Our Mary.
- Contemplating each mystery, as if we are with Our Lord and Our Lady on their journey- from the Annunciation up to the Coronation of Our Lady as Queen of heaven and earth.
Praying the Holy Rosary is also being reminded of the life of Our Lord, Our True Love.
I’d like to end this message by quoting St. Josemaria when he said in "The Way"
“The holy Rosary is a powerful weapon. Use it with confidence and you will be amazed at the results.”
This is true. I would pray the Rosary everyday but I notice that praying it calms me down, that I forget the things that worry me or make me anxious.
Let me know if you have any intention that you want me to pray for.
Keep safe and always keeping you in my prayers,
Kyra
