Fall and Writing

My windows are open!

I love sleeping in the cold. I'm pretty sure sleeping in a freezer with a ton of blankets on me would ensure awesome sleep. I don't particularly like getitng up in a freezing room, but normally I'll suffer through it for the awesome sleep. And the nights have cooled off enough that I have a my window open and a fan in it, blowing that deliciously cool air into my bedroom. Mmmmm.

Granted it also means it's about time to tear down the disaster of a garden this year, but I'm waiting until the first frost for that. Maybe by then my brain and body will be up for that marathon of pulling and burning. But while I'm hiding in the house, I'm writing and prepping my publishing schedule. My big issue is too many choices. I might have to create poll, so I know what to work on next!

I'm almost done with my Mage Hunter book. Once again I don't follow the rules and I have zero idea if this is actually a thriller or a biopic of Scott Randolph. But it should be done this week. Not bad for five weeks of writing. I started Mage Hunter midway through August and it will be done by the end of September. We'll see how it goes.

I've gotten a rough of the cover, but we are going to tweak a few things in it, but I think you'll like it. It is very calm compared to the last one. November is getting here fast.

Don't forget you can get paperbacks, audiobooks, and the ebooks of Kaylid Chronicles from my store! These paperbacks are signed to you, so great for gifts.

Book Recommendations!

I've got a few different ones this week. My brain has been all over the place so I'm reading odd stuff.

The first book in this series, A House for Keeping, is on sale until midnight TONIGHT! So grab it at the .99 while you can. Confronted with family secrets, hidden magic, and fantastical creatures, Finn must decide what she’s willing to trade for a charmed life. And you need to decide if you want to try it. It is sitting on my Kindle now.

I freely admit this isn't the normal type of story I share with you, but it caught my funny bone - "Romantic comedy with a magical fantasy twist." Then you get this - "One princess searching for her prince charming. One assassin among the bachelors, plotting to kill the princess and bring the empire to its knees." Okay that sucked me in. So if you want to see if this tickles your funny bone try The Royal Matchmaking Competition.

Broken Contract is a novel along side a series and gives you a glimpse into a world of kings and queens, political intrigue (yes I know royalty, kind of a given) and one man desperate to save the only family he has. Grab this free book now!

Weekly Micro Story

A little explanation for this one. I was challenged to tell a story in 50 words, no more, no less off this picture. Here is what I came up with. Did it work?

Offerings

"Your fingers read truth," hissed Inquisitor Dubois.

Blood seeped from my fingers as I traced the infernal symbols. Furious tears splashed down, adding salt.

"Blood, water of life, and fire."

I screamed the symbols as he ignited my hands, filling with power.

"Repent!"

My charred hands found his throat.

"Never."

It was an interesting challenge but only you can say if I succeeded. Though I'd like to point out, if I change two words, the tone completely changes infernal/angelic and charred/radiant. Just saying.

Vegas in November, but I already have a con lined up for January next year. So if you are in the Chattanooga area, it looks like I'll be at Chattacon!
