And finding balance

Dragoncon was a whirlwind of nonstop extroverting. And I did really good. In addition to walking over 88k steps (my legs hurt for days!) I got to hang with some cool people, talk shop with others, and work on becoming more comfortable with forging my own path. That path involves you, so as changes start to roll out I hope you'll enjoy them.

Balanced Luck has been sent to the editor and my cover artist (the awesome Ampersand) is working on the cover. But right now everything is looking good for the launch of the final book in Cori's story. I think you'll like how it ends.

The Mage Hunter is only at 38k because of Dragoncon and editing Balanced Luck, but starting Monday I am back to full time focus on that. My goal is done by the end of the month.

My story is up and running and once I can figure out how to ship the figurines, they'll be up on the store. People at Dragoncon really liked her so that was neat.

Book Recommendations!

November will be here soon enough, I promise, but until then check out these.

This is book 7 of a sci-fi series that looks cool and since it is book seven, you know there is a lot to sink your teeth into. It looks like book 1 and 2 are also at .99 as well as this book. If you like wide ranging universes and want something fun to sink your teeth into, Last Frontier might be your chance.

Rapture

"We did it!" The scientists screamed rapturously as they stared at the nude being crouched on the dais pad. "We summoned a being from another dimension!" They jumped up and down, hugging, and giving each other high-fives.

The being stood slowly, golden eyes taking in the scientists, the lab, and most of all the glowing portal above it. There were no external genitalia, a smooth seam of flesh between the legs, while perfect muscles flexed as it turned back and forth examining the area.

"You dare?" The voice was outside human ranges, so low bones vibrated at the tones, yet it was enough to make half the scientists weak at the knees with sexual desire.

One of the scientists, a man in his eighties with arrogance as strong as his bad breath, stared at the being. "Yes. We've done it. We've proven there are other dimensions and that they follow the humanoid structure. This means we can live there. While we may never develop FTL, we can explore this way."

The being closed its eyes, then opened them, a smile revealing sharp white teeth. "This world has been blocked to my kind for millenia, now it is open again. The time of reaping has begun." At its words a sword wreathed in flames appeared in its right hand and it swung in a level arc in front of it. The sword sliced through machinery, stone, and flesh with ease, leaving a shamble of equipment, walls, and bodies in its wake.

"Let the Rapture begin." The screams turned to wails of fear as it stepped off the platform, huge wings of silvery black appearing behind it. "Long have I hungered for this chance." Blood coated the walls and floors as it moved through the building, seeking more sacrifices to its god.

This was based off the picture. Not sure it would go anywhere, unless I wanted to do a supernatural horror novel. But meh.

Back to writing and trying to get things done. Vegas is my last public thing for the year, but I'll start on next year soon. Let me know if there is anything local you'd love to have me at. I can always try.
