Dragoncon Approaches!

The drinking games have started!
If you are into Dragoncon, then about now they start a game (it's more a joke really) that anytime someone asks in the groups if the app has updated you take a drink. Trust me if I was playing I'd be drunk daily, but I've got too much to do.
I have 12 panels and am super excited. I'm moderating a bunch of them and on others. Plus I'll have the booth and signings there, which will be very neat. It will be my first time doing major physical sales, so please come by and purchase books. I really don't want to take them all home with me. I think I'm bringing over 600!! Gah. So please come by and say hi! I'm going to be in a constant state of terror trying to do physical sales.
But one of the neat things I'm bringing is a new in person only, limited edition omnibus for the first 3 Twisted Luck stories. They will all be numbers and signed. I really hope people want it. Take a look at the awesome wrap cover.
See! So cool. I have a stamp and metallic pens to make it super limited edition.
And I'm writing really well. The next two books are going to be (probably) Unbalanced Luck and Balanced Luck, which should be the last two in the series. I've done over 7600 on it last week (total 16k right now). So it is definitely cranking along.
Otherwise I'm just collecting books to my TBR list like crazy. I have issues I know. Check out this one which sounds like half portal, half gaming, and completely interesting. They Call Me Princess Cayce
As if waking up in the body of a young teenage girl wasn’t bad enough, I couldn’t remember my own name. Worse, it turns out I’m the princess, second heir to the throne. I have to get back to my own life, but don’t know who to trust or how to do that. Ask the wizard, you say! Clearly, magic was involved in my transformation, but if I tell him, I’d be confessing to stealing his princess’s body. And if I tell the prince, well, where’s his dear sister?
And if you want a taste before diving in, get book 1 free here.
~Grins~ Yes I bought it and yes it is on my TBR list. And no you can't ask how many books are on my TBR. Mainly because I have no clue.
I want to remind everyone about Mike Lafferty and the short story I wrote for him called "Flame to the Rescue". It's cute and right at 5k. He put it as the story for an RPG supplement for the White Stars system. His Kickstarter
for the Zine he created has launched. If you are into RPG's or want to read my idea of a pulp sci-fi story check out his Kickstarter!
Here is this weeks story and dang it, I don't need anymore worlds to write in.
Guard Duty
Nenin hated guard duty. It was boring and he rarely got to use his ax. His glorious ax that he spent hours a day practicing with. Instead he just stood here and looked intimidating. Granted, at seven and a half feet tall, it wasn't like he couldn't look intimidating. Besides that was why he'd been hired, to intimidate.
The smog of the city, the smells of too much humanity, and the noise of a bustling city of 18 million created his work atmosphere. Most days he didn't mind it, but today he longed for clear skies, green grass, and silence. Which was odd as he'd never seen or had any of those.
The desire grew pulsing in him, until his feet ached to run, to scrunch his toes in green grass, feel a warm sun on his face. The urge to walk away, to head to someplace green and free had him lifting up one foot.
That put him on alert. Why would he remember something, ache for something he'd never done? He tightened his grip on his ax and scanned the area. His outfit looked old fashioned but the helmet had a full HUD that let him see everything around him. His axe had an energy blade and his shield could create a wall of force nothing to get through. The old fashioned outfit was required by his employers, but he had to admit it was as top of line as you could get.
On the far edge of his sensor's a gleam of blue covered someone standing there. Blue meant mind magic. That explained it. Nenin sighed as he hit the alert button. Behind him the door to Illuminati's Milky Way galaxy headquarters sealed shut. The urge faded away at the same time the blue did. Now several spots of red appeared on multiple points, elemental magic.
Nenin smiled activating his shield and the energy blade, he got ready for the attack.
Stars, he loved his job.
I have books everywhere, I need to write, I need tomatoes to ripen, and oddly I need bacon. Yes I'm weird, your point?
See BOXES of books and I'm waiting still for 120 more to show up. Books, not boxes.
