Lord has Launched and...
So far so good. The series as a whole is picking up steam and I can only hope it continues to. Next Monday (March 3rd) the final book Bastard will drop. I will say I had the book written, the cover done, before I remembered bastard can be considered a bad word. Not sure what to do about that is his origin, but we all know you are much more than who your parents were. All I can do is hope that everyone wants to read Silas's story just as much.
Silas will shake things up and if the response to the series is good I might write the occasional stand alone with them ... well... doing something. You'll see.
So the big news I hinted at but didn't get into details is about Cori and Carelian. I have started writing a new trilogy. The series is tentatively titled Cori at Large as she is an Ambassador. And I think, if the plots will behave, the trilogy will be titled Relics. Though be aware things shift on me very much. But right now I am at 50k and it is going as it usually does, sideways. I swear between Cori, Carelian, and Zmaug nothing goes to plan.
But I also wrote a reader magnet at 15k that will set everything up for her new job. That should be available before the books launch and let you sink back into this world. I'm so glad to be writing them again and it will be a blast to bring in new people to cause issues and drama.

Everything
"Seek out the pale man, deep in the swamp. Only he can give you what you seek." The words whispered through my mind over and over, though they had last been said to me days ago. Yet they were the only things that kept me going.
My food had run out yesterday and my water was mostly the morning dew that I gathered in the morning into my small drinking cup. Worst case the frogs and fish were edible, but I had no fire. The oil in my lamp died days ago. It didn't matter. My quest was worth my life.
The world was nothing but fog, the sound of my poll squelching in the mud, the water against the small pirogue, and my own heart thudding in my ears. Every movement was rote as if I had done this for centuries, not days.
"Why do you seek me?"
The words came from no where and everywhere. I started and the pirogue rocked as I regained my balance. The fog was too thick to see so I spoke.
"Vengeance. Retribution. Justice." The words burned as I said them, all true but with a layer of hate that a few moons ago I would not have thought myself capable of.
I felt a gaze on me, but I just stood, waiting. If the pale man said no, I would die here. There was no one left to miss me.
"There is a price to pay for that path. To become that which dispenses judgement."
I knew this. The thing was, I had already paid it. "I know."
Suddenly a pale figure stood in front of me, standing on the prow of my pirogue, but it didn't even wobble.
"I see." There was a world of pain and understanding in those words. Cold hands, cool as ice, touched my brown and I met eyes that were white as the moon. "So be it."
A smile crossed my face as I changed, my clothes falling away, and my body elongating. Freed from the bonds of flesh I rose up.
"Go. Take your retribution, seek your vengeance, issue justice for those who died."
I screamed, a long low sound, and shot off across the swamp towards those who had destroyed the lives of my family, my friends, my village.
Death was coming.
I was coming.
My scream of joy was their only warning.

2025 is going faster than I would like, and while I'm writing it is still slower than I would prefer. But there are so many stories coming. Don't forget to spread the word and I'll be showing you other stuff soon.
