To the Stars....

And Success!
I have to say Betty White dying on New Years Eve threw me for a bit of a loop. But then again, I can't think of a better way to go out. She was an amazing woman and somehow I really think she just decided she was ready to head to the next adventure.
And so I am. Wait, not dying. I have too many Earthly adventures to do, you should see my bucket list vacation plans. I mean more ready to get Faded Luck really rocking. I have some other stories in that universe I want to write. I have a non-fiction book on grief I need to write. I have a epic fantasy I want to write based on some art I purchased. I can't wait to start that, but Faded Luck first.
What this means is I have good plan for this coming year. I hoping to be able to start writing full time this year which means more stories for you. But I still have a ways to go to make sure I can pull this off - though sharing the wonder of my existence is always helpful, really you don't need to keep me to yourselves.
That being said I'm ready and almost excited. So here's to 2022 and my theme for the year - I am.
No, I'm not Yaweh - but I am - a success, a good storyteller, a good friend, a good daughter. My words for the year are "I am."
Let's kick this year off right and make sure we all are the "I am" we want to be.
This is a fun kick off to a more entertaining world. Think young Tony Stark and the games kids play. When you play Hide and Seek, you'd better be better than the people trying to find you. Take a look at Chase. It's on free from Amazon right now, so grab it while you can, I did.
That does it for me this week. I'm finishing up correcting some errors in the Twisted Luck series one of my beta's sent. So I need to finish getting those done and then pushed up. Enjoy the story and I'll see you in two weeks.
Strive
Sela sat, her eyes closed as she cupped her hands in front of her heart.
"Concentrate. Imagine what you want. You need to be clear about what you think should form." Her mother sat across from her with a soft smile and encouraging look.
Sela focused on the spark she held. The start of something big, but what? This was her proof she was ready to accept adult responsibilities. But what would prove it?
The desire to open her eyes and ask for guidance warred with the need to prove she was capable of being an adult. Asking for help didn't mean she was weak, but this was part of her journey. How could anyone, even her mother, tell her what she wanted to be? By definition they would tell her what they wanted her to be. This was her choice.
The spark hummed in her hands, ready to be what she desired.
Hope?
But hope wasn't enough. You could hope for anything and unless you worked toward it, hope meant nothing. Sela didn't fear work, but what did she want?
A smile crossed her features as it clicked. She focused. Striving. That was her contribution, to strive. You may or may not make it, but as long as you strived, there was a chance.
Magic pulsed from her and the unformed magic change and altered. With a smile Sela opened her eyes and looked at the gem laying in her hands.
It was a pointed oval shape, radiating colors.
"What is it?" Her mother leaned forward to see.
"Strive. It will provide the confidence to strive towards what you want. It won't give it to you, but will help you keep going. To reach for that which you want."
Gaia nodded and smiled. "Strive sounds like an excellent addition."
Enjoy and remember strive toward your goals. I know I am and thanks to all of you I'm a bit closer.
