Did you see the new book?

Not only did I drop a book last week, but I'm still doing good with my writing. For those of you playing at home:

See! And given that on week 12 (last week) I not only had to run someone to the airport, but I had a tooth pulled, I'm pretty happy. Note: having a tooth pulled is very odd. I was numb so no pain, but my tooth was not "right" and it took drilling to get it out. Just weird. But still that means that so far for March I've written 54,660 words so far and I still have a week left! Woot!

Plus I dropped Mage Hunter: Vengeance! This is the story of Scott Randolph who you might remember first meeting in My Luck, then again in the Unbalanced and Balanced Luck books. I hope you enjoy seeing the true story behind the movie they made about him.

I'm writing like crazy and I'm hoping to have some new books out this summer, if I can keep up this pace. My epic fantasy is... being a pain so I'm focusing on some other books first.

Weekly Micro Story

Bored

Shilanaria stood, chained to the rock in such a manner she could not have sat if she wanted to. She didn't. Captured she might be, but any daughter of the House of Oak would meet their death standing.

The human scum that had captured her, yet another thing to meet her ancestors proud of—they had lost five of their own in the attempt—surrounded her as they chanted.

They had been chanting for at least fifteen minutes, and Shilanaria rather wished it was over with, when something changed. They didn't sense is, but she did and she glanced right and left trying to see what she was to be offered up to. They had just told her she was an offering so they would be blessed with power.

~Why are you here?~ The strange voice filled her mind and she cast around for the being, but all she could hear was the stupid chanting.

~I was caught and dragged here. As an offering. To you I suppose?~ The voice didn't sound angry or hungry, so there was no reason to go on the attack—yet.

~Ah. That. I had forgotten. I have it set up so every so often I can do a cleansing of a certain type of moron. Normally they grab a child and I make sure it is returned home and never remembers any of this. That won't work for you. Hmm.~

Shilanaria waited, if nothing else this was interesting.

~You know it has been a very long time since I've had a partner. Are you interested?~

She ran down the options in her head. What ever the being was, evil didn't seem to fit it, she had been bored, so why not.

"Sure," she said aloud.

~Excellent,~ the voice purred. Her chains dissolved as a huge black dragon appeared behind them cultists. ~Shall we?~

Shilanaria laughed as she dove into the fight, grabbing first a flaming piece of wood, then a knife. This partnership might be a lot of fun, at least she would not be bored.

I do love dragons. It would be fun to have one as your partner.
