And I forgot I needed to do a newsletter
It is 8 am, and I am at ConCarolinas. I also have a panel in 40 minutes. And... yeah I forgot the newsletter was today. I've also had about 10 hours sleep in the last three days. I am way too old to do this. Sigh.
So instead of anything intelligent, PICS! My booth!
Me!
And I got Tirsane today (okay Friday, but you know what I mean). I hired someone to create Tirsane and I got the prototype. Look!
She is gorgeous and I'm so excited about her. Still planning what to do but squee!
I hope you've enjoyed Unbalanced Luck. I'm excited writing the last book, it is a ride. So Balanced Luck will be here soon.
Weekly Micro Story
To Change
The planet lay below me, so tiny and beautiful. A jewel in the sea of darkness of space. The stairs beckoned me, both physical and metaphysical. It was my time to go back down, to live again, to experience all the things only a flesh and blood life could experience. The joy, the wonder, the experiences, and the pain. It was the pain that stopped me.
"Why are you still here, little one? Should you not be headed down?" The voice behind me didn't startle me, why get startled when you existed in a perfect place?
"I'm supposed to," I admitted. I didn't turn and look who spoke, it didn't matter.
"So why do you still linger?" There was only compassion and kindness in the words and that made it worse. I shrunk into myself but didn't take my eyes off the stairs.
"I don't want to go," I whispered, but the words were still easily heard.
"Ah. It can be scary, but you don't know how lucky you are."
I jerked my head up to look at the speaker. There is no word for beauty or perfection, and seraphs were that, so perfect they seemed to glow and a lowly soul like me couldn't even make out anything other than the light.
"Lucky? To hurt and cry and then someday die? How is that lucky?"
"Because you actually get to live, to grow, to change. We never change, we are unchanging, unceasing, undying. We exist for ever and always as we are. You get to become anything you want, we will never be anything other than what we are." The voice carried so much excitement at the idea of changing.
I couldn't imagine always being the same, never changing for all eternity. Suddenly pain and sorrow didn't seem as bad, at least I would change.
"Very well." I took the first step, the stairs swaying under my nonexistent weight as I moved forward.

I'm going to finish drinking my coffee, getting dressed, and then I'm heading to talk about game recommendations. I really need a nap.
