Are you ready?

If you're like me, the preview text was a call back to the wrestling of the 80s and 90s. And I swear it feels like its been a fight to get this trilogy out. Never again. Preorders are evil and I might just start dropping them with a "Surprise, New Book" attitude. But that being said, Hunted is live on my website now and until Monday morning. At which point it will flip to Amazon and KU. Hopefully you enjoy the reveals and the things that happen. No one you care about dies, promise.

The new series I'm working on is rather fun. I have the VERY rough draft of book 1 done and I'm trying to plot book 2. It is a five book series and I'm hoping I can pull it off. Lots of edits and smoothing out character arcs in this one. Otherwise, I'm still fighting to get my garden ready and things planted and hopefully weed proofed while I'm in Ireland for a MONTH! Gah only 4 weeks left!! Ugh. I have JordanCon before then and with luck, I should have the 1st and 2nd book available to buy. Fingers crossed.

Book Recommendations!

Light and Dark

I sat and stared at the portal, the swirl of clouds constantly changing, shifting to reveal glimpses of life. Here a girl crying over spilled milk, there a man fighting for his life against the undead, another woman wailing as someone hurt her. They never stopped and over the centuries I had become inured to the constant pain and suffering of mortals. They never seemed to learn.

"Hello, Sora. How are you this glorious rotation?" Cherin sang out, walking into my viewing chamber.

I sighed, the depression and helplessness getting to me. "Why is it always the same? How any mortal has lived this long I do not understand." I waved at the portal, then abruptly stood. This was why I tired of my existence. Why bother, when what little assistance I could give never seemed to change anything?

Cherin walked over and peered into the portal, then pulled back with an expression somewhere between shock and horror. "My dearest Sora, why do you have it set to darkness?"

I blinked, unsure what that comment meant.

Cherin sighed and reached down and light the lamps on both sides. "If this is what you've been watching for eons, no wonder you're depressed. If the lights are off it is the darkness of the human spirit, the things they can't over come, the acts that taint their souls. If one light is on and one is off, then you get a balance of joy and dark, acts that save yet sacrifice. If both are on," Cherin paused. "Well look."

I moved back over and this time when the clouds revealed scenes, it was a baby laughing at its mom, a proposal in a park, the assistance in learning a new skill, standing in nature taking in the beauty.

"Is this real?" I asked, fearing that this was a sop to my mood.

Cherin dropped a kiss on my head as I sat back down in front of the portal. "As real as the dark. Humanity has a depth and breadth few understand."

With a smile I watched and let the joy, beauty, and hope cleanse some of the sorrow from me.
