Hunted is at the Proofreader
Mar 22, 2026 5:41 pm
And yes I am embarrassed.
I'm sure most of you know about my debacle, and the egg is totally on my face. But, it has been fixed AND I will always get a proofreader from now on. It isn't worth the stress. That being said, I'll easily make the deadline for Hunted, so that will go live on April 6th. You can pre-order it here or I'll have it up on my site about a week before. Isn't is pretty?
I am working on getting some special hardback editions of these made with all the foil and pretty stuff, so stay tuned to that. Remember to get audio books from Soundbooth (or me) as it SO much better for authors than Audible.
Otherwise, I'm killing myself to get my garden ready and things planted and hopefully weed proofed while I'm in Ireland for a MONTH! Gah only 6 weeks left!!

Ummm... I don't have any, but I've got an amazing new website to buy live plants from if that helps? What I've been reading lately is stuff by Turtleme (yeah I know, but it's what he publishes under), SD McKittrick, Auryn Hadley, and Zoe Routh. So if you want to follow my weirdness feel free.

Sarlacc sucked. But the views couldn't be beat. I stood gazing up a the three moons and the ruins that I knew were from alien civilizations, screw what the 'experts' said. I was here, they weren't.
My suit hummed, a constant sound more important than my heartbeat, and I listened, catching that weird glitch every ten seconds. That wasn't good. I pivoted. The excursion had taken me at least ten klicks from the shuttle, which meant I'd better get moving.
I hefted up the bag of plants, all edible—learned via hard experience—and headed back. Giko loping at my side.
"Your suit has increased harmonics every tenth cycle."
"Yep," I said, not pausing in my easy pace back. Gravity was less here, at least less than I'd been born under, but I could tell my muscles were getting weaker. That wasn't good and could get me killed. The same thing that had saved my life multiple times was fading. And I had no idea how to fix it.
"This bears with it an unfortunate implication for the future."
"Yep."
"My database has no information on how to remedy this apparent damage."
"Didn't figure it did."
"You are not allowed to die."
"Wasn't planning on it. But getting back to the shuttle will increase the likelihood of surviving. Which means less talking for me. As that uses oxygen."
"Oh. Of course. I should have known. I will no longer distract you." Giko went silent and I rolled my eyes, that took almost no energy, and kept up the pace.
Twenty-five minutes later the shuttle came into view. I paused at the rise, checking for anything, but as usual there was nothing. The planet wasn't dead, but who ever had built the edifices out there, they had been gone for a long time.
Five minutes later I was in the shuttle and shutting the door behind us. I put away the food from the grocery run, and pulled out my secret weapon, a data chip—How to Fix Everything and Anything. It had saved my life multiple times and hopefully would again this time.
"Thanks dad," I murmured as I patted the FSS kit and started to read.
