Between Christmas and New Years

2026 Is almost Here
I'm going to be working on my goals over this final week of the year, and editing. I feel like my life is editing and I still find issues. Oh well. But it does mean as soon as I get the covers, I'll start the launch process for the Cori at Large trilogy. Then I'll get back to writing the next few books in new worlds. We will see how it goes.
For now you know there are two shorts up in my store, the prequel (Ambassador at Large) to this new series and the Xmas story (Carelian's Christmas). I'll get the prequel up in Amazon soon, but I don't want to until I can get the preorder up for book 1, 2, and 3 - which I can't do until I have covers. It is a backward domino chain most of the time.
But my goals are going to give me a lot of conventions next year, a lot of books, and Ireland! Which if any of you live in Ireland let me know and I'll try to set up a "meet-up" as I'll be in Dublin for a month!
Book Recommendations!
Every so often a good vampire romance will pull me in, but only if it has PLOT. Check out Forevermore - A woman's visions pull her to Louisiana and her life becomes tangled up in shared destiny if they don't want to be destroyed. It's available for free now!
Weekly Micro Story
Future
Kelly had yet another old fashioned, the wreath on her head about to fall off.
"Stupid, showing up as Christmas Past, when you know none of these people even know who Dickens is, much less would recognize the character." The complaint was more to herself, not that anyone was near her to hear it. It had been a Christmas dress up party and the room was full of Santa Claus, elves, and reindeer. Her very outfit, a green robe with the wreath on there head and a bag full of gifts, made her an outcast —again.
It was an open bar and she figured if she had one more old fashioned, she'd have drank the price the rideshare home. No one would remember she was there or notice when she left.
Blinking back tears at her own invisibility, she toss back the drink and made her way toward the bar, bumping into someone as she did.
"Oops, sorry," she said looking up. A person stood there in a long black robe the cowl covering the face. "Hey, you dressed as the ghost of Christmas Future." Hope flash through her that here was someone who would at least understand the reference.
The figure loomed over her and for a moment her happy buzz fled as she looked into the darkness.
"Not dressed, am."
They were really roleplaying this, she could roll with that. "And whose future are you showing?" Kelly smiled, expecting a lame joke about the stock market or something.
"Only yours. They have none. Do you?"
The words wrapped around her heart, squeezing it until it raced faster and faster, her throat so tight she struggled to breathe. Only one thing remained in her head.
RUN!
Kelly dropped the glass and sprinted to the door of the restaurant, leaving the bag of silly gifts behind. Her phone in her hand, she hit the ride share app, taking her defaults. She tumbled into the care unable to breathe or think.
Her front door shutting behind her with the finality of locks snapping home, finally let the fear die and she sank to the floor crying. She had four more shots of whiskey before she crawled into bed and hoped she was drunk enough to not dream.
The next morning she sat looking at the news on her phone telling her about the tragedy at a Christmas party last night. A gas explosion. Over thirty people dead.
Kelly set down her phone and looked out her window. She knew what her future could have been. Now she would change it.

That was much more horror than I normally write. Interesting.
