An Hour Lost - but books!

DST SUCKS!
I lost an hour yesterday then an hour today. One of those was Daylight Savings Time stealing it from me, the other was an hour of cleaning up my newsletter sign ups. Did you know you can get spammed on your newsletter sign up? Neither did I until I had over 300 new subscribers.
I'm like YES! People love me!!! And then I went and looked at them. Nope, no one (well except you) knows who I am. It took me an hour to clean them all out. Just stupid spammers. Why? They aren't going to make any money from me doing this so why bother?
And really that was an hour I could have spent working on Book 5 (Drafted Luck) or fixing a new webpage I'm working or polishing a short story for an anthology or even putting my laundry away. All of those would have been less annoying. Oh well, it is done and for a good reason - I have stuff to SHARE!
If you don't know who Dave (DJ) Butler, Benjamin Tyler Smith, RJ Landon, or William Joseph Roberts are - well here is your chance to find out. We are running a give away and if you win you get a signed PHYSICAL book from each of us. And we aren't just giving a book away to one person. Nope. Five people will get books from us. I want you to understand the depth of my sacrifice here. I am agreeing to MAIL five things. I hate going to the mail. Absolutely HATE. So you now have proof I want to make sure you are not bored.
You can enter the give away here.
The next big news is Audible. I don't know why the Audible portal hates me, but My Luck still isn't there. But Hired Luck is. So if you wanted to listen to my awesome narrator Autumn Juliet bring Cori and friends to life, here is your chance.
Otherwise I am writing and daydreaming. Don't forget you can find both audio books at Findaway Voices and for less than what Audible charges.
But if that isn't enough here is another free book to wet your appetite. I mean who doesn't want to see humans fighting against insect like aliens?
That is about all I have going on (I think that is enough don't you?). But because I don't want you to be bored (yes I regard boredom as the true evil) here is a mini story for you. Don't forget you can read No Luck if you want to find out what happened to Charles and Daniela.
CHOSEN
I stood at the edge of the water, the wave spiraled towards me. Either water god would accept me, or my worries would be over. At least once I quit worrying about breathing.
Water hung above me, assessing, judging, weighing my worth. My shoulders sagged. I wasn't worthy. Then just kill me. I could hear the crowd talking. Who wouldn't want to watch a stupid street orphan sacrificed to Axyian through her own stupidity. Free entertainment, and no one would be held liable.
I laughed at my own thoughts. What street rat used words like that? Understood that death was preferable to so many things? It didn't matter, my gamble had failed, spectacularly.
No. I will not go to my death a street orphan. I will die a scholar.
My shoulders straightened, I lifted my chin and stood up straight, proud. A daughter my father declared his greatest achievement and joy. I dared Axyian to take me, to end me. To destroy the line of Scolmi.
Wind raced around me and I heard the crowd behind me murmur, but I didn't turn to look. I kept my focus on the water, home of Axyian, our water god. It chose its acolytes, and any harbor city made sure it kept its water god happy.
"I will take you," a voice said rippling through my mind, my soul, and the crowd.
Horrified I turned to see Zeryx, the god of air, floating there.
I was saved. By the god my people cursed.
I hope you enjoyed that one. Stay well and happy.
