Down to the finish

imageFaded Luck is almost done!

At least the rough draft is. I am writing the climax right now, so it will (note the verb) be done this week. I can't wait. Granted editing is going to be painful, and I have all the chapter blurbs to do, but it will be done.

My process is rough draft, read through once, adding blurbs and anything else I need to double check. Export. Run a spell check on it (again). Then send to betas. While the betas have it, I'll check with my editor and then finish off the shorts I have due. If I can write the 5 (yes 5!) shorts I have due next month that will clear my plate for the next Twisted Luck book and my epic fantasy novel.

Spring is finally here in Georgia, so I need to get plants in the ground which competes for my butt in the chair. That being said I can't wait for the fresh veggies.

I am going to get back to writing, and I probably need to pick up the house, it's a bit of a disaster. Oh well. Take a look at these while you wait for Faded Luck

This is book 2 in the series, but book 1 is also .99. These are short novellas, perfect for the commute or maybe on a lunch break. If you like scrappy defenders and science fiction, The Kindness You're Bound to Return is for you.

That is all for me this week. I am going to finish Faded Luck

Zoo

Sarah stared at the red panda munching on a piece of fruit. It didn't flick an ear at the others walking by or staring at it. The fake tree cast shade, while carefully selected plants divided the area. A stream of water trickled in seductive manner, the panda just sat there, munching.

The dome enclosing the zoo kept the temperature perfect, but still she felt sweat beading at the base of her neck. A small beep reminded her to keep moving and she did, there was a schedule to follow.

The enclosure for Asia, complete with natives of that area tending to the animals fell away and she stepped into the Africa zone, a caretaker dressed up in what Sarah assumed was native garb, wearing a smile that she knew was a fake as her own.

"Welcome to the wonders of Africa. Here you will see elephants, zebra's, smell the dry air of the savannah and the moist heat of the jungle. Africa has many facets and great beauty, but beware dangers hides behind every leaf."

The mans voice rang with power, but Sarah knew it wasn't for her, instead he directed it upward. Leaving the man to his own show of defiance she continued, ignoring the weight of their gazes. Trying to pretend it was a day at the zoo.

The river, in carefully sculpted banks, drifted by and she saw the reflection of all the alien children as they stared down at her.

Just one more human in their alien zoo.

I will be working on Faded Luck the rest of the weekend, so fingers crossed I get a ton done.

See Ya!
