What a difference 28 days makes - very glad to welcome the spring sunshine that is warming my back as I type this wee note to you this afternoon.
I don't know about you, but it feels like there is a real sense of optimism and new beginnings in the air...
... on that topic, much has happened this month here at AYANE HQ - it has included a clearout of truly epic proportions (and the subsequent formation of 'Mount Ebay' parcel pile) in order to create our 'drawing corner' (the importance of this will become clear in the next couple of months - all being well) and the beginning of stage 1 in our first EP plans.
An EP?! Yes, an EP - if there is one thing that this past year has taught me, it is that life is short and we shouldn't keep putting things off. So I made the decision to commit to creating an EP in the next 12 - 18 months. It is something I have always wanted to do and I'm telling you about it now to give myself some accountability.
It is going to be a 'home studio' harp recording of three of my favourite pieces of music by Debussy; 1) Premier Arabesque 2) Reverie and 3) Clair de Lune... and I might very well be a lune for taking on such a project. But these pieces mean a lot to me and I think they make beautiful lullabies especially on the harp. I also hope that it will help me become a better harpist in the process.
Before I sign off I just wanted to mention that this month's playlist is a celebration of all things orchestral (link below). It includes beautiful ballet music, majestic symphonies and everything in between. Here's hoping that it won't be too many more months until orchestral concerts can start again!
