Dear ,
A slightly belated Merry Christmas from Graham and I. We hope that you had lovely day despite the best efforts of that which shall not be named!
The reason for the delay is that we have been hard at work on a new piece for you and we were hoping to send it to you on Christmas Eve along with our 'Merry Christmas' but it took a lot longer for us to complete than time and life allowed for.
This piece is our very first foray into the world of DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) composition and to say it's been a steep learning curve would be a fairly large understatement. It's been a really enjoyable project and we've learned a huge amount that we hope we can now infuse into all the projects we've planned for next year!
The idea behind the piece was to write a Christmas lullaby that focuses on the all the beautiful things that midwinter brings; sparkling snowy landscapes, beautiful patterns in the frost, clear night skies full of stars and the magic of the Aurora. Essentially a re-framing from bleak to bright.
So without further ado here is our take on 'In The Bleak Midwinter'.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Best wishes,
Samantha and Graham
