Happy Year, my sweet Bunburian!
Please tell me I'm not the only one who dislikes resolutions. Just the idea of them makes me anxious. Maybe it's from all the years I tried to hold to them until frustration got the better of me. It was a great relief when the movement towards goal-setting took over. Even that can be too much when life gets crazy, like it has been for the last year or five. You too? Then remember that reaching that goal can be a gentle progress to the end, but you get to determine when that is. If no one has told you it's ok to give yourself space and time to breathe, that's what I'm here for. You may not end up where you planned to be, but you may find something even better.
Did I meet my goals for last year? Kinda. That's the short answer. When I finally made the leap and was published in my first anthology, I found a community of writers and readers that accepted me without question or judgment. That has brought me more of a sense of peace than reaching any of my quantifiable goals. With that being said, ten short stories under two pen names and a novella, I'm pretty friggen chuffed with myself. Now I'm ready to take on bigger projects this year, and I hope you are as excited as I am for them.
Upcoming book news
Thank you to everyone who participated in my survey last month and enjoyed 'Picnic in the Rain' as my gift for your help. The majority of you want full-length novels that make you sweat, and I'm ready for the challenge.
Last month, I mentioned that I'm committed to two contemporary romance shared series this year. I created a pretty graphic to show them off, but since I haven't done the cover reveals for any of them yet, it looked rather blah. The cover reveal for my firefighter romance, 'Scarred Trust', will be on January 29th, which will be in the Bunbury group or in next month's newsletter, where I'll share a sneak peek too. 'Evading the Boss' will be unveiled on March 28th, but I'll give you some tidbits before that when it's up for pre-order.
And to keep me accountable, I'm giving you a heads-up that there is a holiday romance and two romantic suspense novels on the calendar, too. You know I'll share excerpts and ask for your opinion on all of them as the year goes on, so be sure to follow me on my socials or just reply to any of my emails.
