I don't celebrate Valentines Day

But it's not for the reasons you may think

Issue: February 2026

Hello, my sweet Bunburian!

If you been with me for a while, you know that I try to keep to the vibe of my tagline 'flirty, sexy & fun romance'. But at a time when a romance author is supposed to be giving you all the hearts and stars in their eyes, I can't do it. I'll keep this brief because I'm already crying thinking about it. I love you all, but when I think of Valentine's Day, all I see is tattered gold mylar balloons clinging to bare branches, and chocolates strewn across a grassy field while children run screaming for their lives. Eight years ago, the 17 beautiful faces you see above were lost to their families and our community in one of the many school shootings that have taken place in the US. My eldest was in art class that day on the other side of campus. And while she was 'one of the lucky ones', the invisible scars remain for us all. So hug your loved ones harder and celebrate them every day.

Upcoming book news

Now for the fun stuff.

imageLast month was the cover reveal for my upcoming firefighter romance, 'Scarred Trust'. Did you see that gorgeousness? It's available for pre-order. Here's the blurb:

The first time Wes St. James really noticed Caitríona Duffy, she was effortlessly beautiful in flour-dusted yoga pants, mortified about a kitchen fire, and absolutely not impressed by his firefighter hero routine.

The second time, she was serving him beer with the kind of professional detachment that made him want to figure out how to make her smile. Really smile, not the polite server smile she gave everyone else.

The third time, she was kissing him like he was oxygen and she'd been drowning.

Wes knows better than to trust what he's feeling. His ex made it clear: no one wants a broken man. After a year of surgeries and losing his father and brother to a suspicious fire, he's barely holding together. But Cate sees past his scars—she sees him and finds him worthy.

Cate has learned not to trust that anyone will stay. Men have used and discarded her. So she works herself to exhaustion, hoping each achievement will finally protect her family. But Wes doesn't leave when things get hard. He stays. He shows her what it feels like to be chosen.

Then reality shatters: her firm is connected to the fires he's investigating. The cases she's handled are tied to his family's deaths. She's been working for the enemy.

This is the moment everyone leaves. Except Wes doesn't. When Cate risks her career to expose the conspiracy, he's beside her. And when arsonists come for her family's pub in retaliation, Wes is still there from their night together—he didn't disappear at dawn. He stayed. His training saves her family's business and proves some people are worth trusting.

The 'Business & Pleasure' series just completed the book reveals, including my story 'Evading the Boss'. The cover reveals start March 14th, so make sure to keep an eye out on my socials and go pre-order it now.

I have a lot more planned, including a new paranormal romance (PNR) under my pen name, Nicole Sondelle. If you like spicy PNRs and Romantasies, sign up for my Sondelle newsletter and get a fr33 copy of 'In the Nyx of Time'.

Be sure to scroll down to check out the fr33bies I promised you.
