| Nolan Keller Briefing • Tue, Feb 17 Nolan Keller — mission statusLive Events, Scene Tension, and a Crazy Idea . |
| MISSION PROGRESS Nolan Keller is a modern techno-thriller set in Appalachia, in the fictitious town of Marrow Creek. Writing has been rough this past week. I've been cranking up the tension and Keller is getting cagey. I reread the last few chapters to try to get my head into the current scene. When I got done, I was sweating and I noticed I was working my toes inside my shoes. That's a lot of nervous energy to be reading something that I wrote. I mean, I know what's going to happen. Maybe I'll dial the pressure back a notch. Maybe not. DORWINE I did a little work on my fantasy series, The Dragons of Dorwine. I'm shopping for a good US based printer to do some foil and sprayed edges for a project coming in Q3. I didn't have a lot of luck. I have two LIVE events coming up soon. The first is GoboCon on March 14th in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. It looks like an outstanding event. Who knows? Maybe Anuka could be their mascot. More on that later. |
| Sit Rep - I wrote an important scene this week. Nolan is at a crossroads and he takes an extreme option. The scene is a little bloated right now, but says what it needs to say.
- I spent way too much time last week down a rabbit hole learning to operate heavy equipment, but it will pay off.
- I have a date on the wall to be done with Draft 1 of The Devil on Klack Mountain. I'm adjusting my scope and settling in for my shot.
- The Dorwine Trilogy is going to be a thing. I'm trying to decide about the level of awesome I want to instill in the books. So many choices...
I’ll share specific dates when I have them. Until then, I’m keeping this focused on real progress. |

| Gear Feature Leather or Kydex?
There are 50 companies that make Kydex holsters. Heck, I looked into getting the equipment to do it. I love the click of holstering in a properly fit Kydex. I have IWB and Outside the Waistband. On the other hand, leather is cool. They are versitile and, if you care for them well, they will last forever. For my baby, I roll with a We The People OWB Kydex. Quick question: What about you? How do you carry? Old school, or Kydex? Lemme know: [email protected] Note: Any firearm mentions are for lawful, responsible ownership and general discussion only—no training, handling, or tactical advice. |
