A magical read...

Hi everyone!
Just popping in on what is a very full day to say hello! As people are gearing up to head back to school, our church is having an end-of-summer celebration tonight...and I'm in charge! Complete with grilling, an ice cream truck, inflatables, a pickleball tournament, and a dessert competition, it's shaping up to be a fun evening, but all that leaves me with little time to enjoy what is normally a day off.
I've also been spending a ton of time on my other business lately: being a virtual assistant for other Indie Published authors. Moments ago, I wrapped up work to help one of my clients release another edition of one of her book series. It feels good to help other authors succeed in this business where not only do you write your own books, but you have to market them as well.
In my little spare time, I've been thoroughly enjoying a Christian Historical Fiction book called Once Upon A Wardrobe. It's written by Patti Callahan, the author of Becoming Mrs. Lewis, and each page is a magical gift. Her way with words transports me to the world she's writing about, where a young woman is on the journey of seeking the answer to her ill young brother's biggest question: Where does Narnia come from? She's seeking the answer from none other than C.S. Lewis himself and learning a lot about life and faith as she goes. I cannot recommend it enough. I suspect I will quickly follow it up with a rereading of the beloved Chronicles of Narnia series. There are some books we never outgrow.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Keep reading below for two more book recommendations!

Angela Johnson's The Barrister and the Wallflower
Christian Historical Fiction
When Love is declared with a pure heart, who knew it could be as invisible as a wallflower?
Fletcher Fernley finds solace in a comfortable chair and a well-crafted guide to property law. As a barrister, he readily engages in lively debates while in the courtroom and occasionally on the fringes of the ballroom.
Audrey Benton gave her heart to Fletcher the day he surprised her with a swing he hung in a tree at Primrose Hall. Twelve years later, Audrey is determined to win Fletcher’s heart. To do this, she must help him see she is no longer a little girl with knotted bonnet ribbons.
The autumn of 1814 is anything but comfortable for Fletcher as the spices of the season upend his perfect life. He has Audrey to blame for this delightful turmoil as her presence leaves behind the lingering scent of cinnamon oil long after she has departed. Fletcher realizes a little too late that the lady who was once a wallflower was never meant to stand on the outskirts of his heart, and a gallant gesture might be necessary to reclaim her affection.
Daisy Landish's Retiring the Lady
A Clean Regency Romance
Retiring with The Lady is the final regency romance in The Lady Series.
Lord Gillingham hasn’t been the best father, or even the best person. What started out as arranging advantageous matches to ensure his daughters’ futures and increase his fortune has led to avarice.
The girls’ once affable and caring father has slowly but quite surely become the kind of man who would jeopardize his children’s happiness for the sake of his riches. And when Lady Pelbrook challenges him on the matter, he is indignant. His daughters have found happiness, have they not?
But the question is: has he? His offspring are going about their lives – but what of Lord Gillingham? What is left, now that his scheming has come to an end?
Lady Pelbrook sets out to teach him about what is truly valuable: family, friends, and living life to its fullest. Little does she know that she is about to embark on a journey she never thought was possible, for a woman of her advanced age.
"But now thus says the Lord,he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine."
