Song of Praise

Hi friends!
This has been the year of Christmas movies for me. So far, that has included Elf, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Home Alone: Lost in New York, The Polar Express, A Christmas Carol (1984), and all three versions of The Grinch. I still have a few to go, including the non-negotiable White Christmas, but it's been so fun revisiting these movies, some of which I haven't seen in a long time. Do you have a favorite Christmas movie you watch every year?
This month has also been a time of reading Christmas books. My favorite so far has been Michelle Griep's Once Upon A Dicken's Christmas. She captures the heart of Charles Dicken's Victorian Christmases so well. You should check out if that sounds like your cup of tea. It's a collection of three novellas that are all so enjoyable.
As we head into this final week before Christmas, I'm praying that you are fully enjoying family, friends, and fun, but also finding moments to reflect on why we celebrate this season. Therefore, I invite you to join me for a moment and read Mary's Magnificat from Luke 1:46-55 (ESV).
Mary's Song of Praise: The Magnificat
And Mary said,
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
On another note, I want to remind about this promotion going on, the Christmas Book Stocking Promo, where you can stock your e-reader with free books!

But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
