Like Manna for Today

Hi friends!

I have spent most of this month on sabbatical from my full-time job in ministry. It was a much-needed time of resting and re-evaluating, and the Lord was given space to show me what was next.

I have a lot of anxiety about the future. It's something I've always struggled with. I have recently wondered if I have the energy to stay in ministry one more year, five, or ten. One of the biggest takeaways from my sabbatical was that the Lord isn't asking me to do that right now; he's asking me for tomorrow. He reminded me of his giving manna to the Israelites, who couldn't store it up for the next day or it would mold, so they had to rely on the Lord's faithfulness to meet their need the next day and the day after. He's asking me to trust his faithfulness to give me what I need tomorrow and asking that I faithfully serve him for one more day. He will take care of the days after that.

It's been refreshing to wake up for work each morning this week and know that He's good and faithful, and He has equipped me with exactly what I need for the day. Tomorrow will have its own needs, and he will meet those too.

I hope that encourages you. Will you join me in surrendering your tomorrow and trusting His faithfulness for today? Will you be faithful to do what he's called you to do for the next twenty-four hours, knowing He's given you precisely what you need to do exactly that?

Some secrets are never meant to see the light of day.

Miss Lizette Kent’s life is in shambles. Not only did her mother just pass away, but she has been left without the means to provide for herself. While she is contemplating her future, she encounters an unexpected and vexing man: Tristan Westcott, a man that mistakenly seems to believe that she is the daughter of an earl, despite her insistence that she is not.

Tristan does not have time for games, but Lady Lizette is playing a maddening one with him. Lord Ashington assigned him to retrieve his granddaughter so that she may take her rightful place in Society. When their first meeting goes awry, he is forced to wait until she accepts the truth and allows him to escort her to London.

As two proud hearts negotiate a ceasefire, they reluctantly discover that they enjoy the other’s company and begin to rely on one another. But as truths are unraveled, Lizette realizes that her future- and her heart- are in danger of being shattered.

As the first novel in a new series by author Laura Beers, Secrets of a Lady begins the Lords & Ladies of Mayfair series. This is a light-hearted, clean, and wholesome romance set in the Regency era. All books in this series have their own Happily-Ever-After and are best enjoyed in proper order.
