A Good Shepherd

Good morning, friends!
Growing up, autumn has always been my favorite season. But there's no denying that the colors of spring are absolutely brilliant. While driving by purple and pink trees or looking up at a beautiful pink cloud on top of a crystal blue sky, I have been praising God that He has chosen to reveal a glimpse of His beauty to us through His Creation. And not only a glimpse of His beauty but also of His character. He is a God of renewal and new life. Rebirth and fresh starts. Mercy and grace, gentleness and joy. I'm holding fast to those truths in this season of life, preaching them to my heart.
It calls to mind Psalm 23...
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
I wonder how you can let God restore you today. What parts of your life are you fighting to control that you can surrender to our Shepherd and trust Him with them, and lie down to rest? I'm asking that question this week too.
I hope your Easter was wonderful! It was an amazing weekend of gathering with other believers to worship our risen Savior.
Next week I'm headed to Omaha, Nebraska for a writer's conference. It is my first one, and I am beyond excited. I hope to be encouraged and have my creativity sparked for a new story. I'm working on two projects in my mind right now, and here's the tiniest hint I can drop at this point on one of them:
Stay tuned...
But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.
Isaiah 43:1 ESV
