Can we retire one expression? "I want to sound like a native speaker."
Why? Which native speaker? Someone from Manchester? Texas? Edinburgh? Sydney? Dublin?
There isn't one magical thing called a "native accent".
And more importantly: you don't need one.
I'm much more interested in something else.
Intelligibility.
Can people understand you easily?
Can you understand them?
