Need to escape for a bit?
Nov 09, 2024 9:11 pm
Hello, my darlings,
This newsletter was supposed to be out yesterday, but I held it back, both because I wasn't quite sure how to talk about *waves hands* everything that happened this week and because I decided to put To Love the Dragon King on sale for a very days in the hope that it might give you a little comfort or escape if you need it. You can find the link below.
As for everything else...I don't usually talk about politics in this newsletter, though if you follow me on some of my social media (or read my books) you know my politics. The election results this week were painful to take. To think that so many people in this country voted for hate and bigotry and misogyny and racism, voted for a convicted felon who was adjudicated liable for sexual assault over a qualified, intelligent woman...it's heartbreaking and difficult to process. The prospect of another Trump administration inspires dread in so many of us, rightly I believe. We know what happened during his first term and the repercussions it has had and we've heard all he promised for this second term. People will be hurt by his rhetoric and his policies. But, we will fight and get through this together. We will support and protect and care for each other. And I will keep writing and keep putting out books filled with hope and love as long as it remains legal for me to do so. For anyone who is struggling, I'm sending love to you.
All the usual things are below, including lots of book recs in the newsletter and on my blog this past month in case you really, really need that escapism for a bit (and I'm right there with you if so!).
A peaceful fall morning out walking.
