Happy December!
Dec 08, 2023 1:01 pm
Hello, my darlings!
As I'm writing this, snow flurries are dancing in the air outside and the Christmas tree is on. So even though I have no idea where November went, it's certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas here. I've even started my Christmas baking. I make a lot of cookies each December, so I always start early with the dough that can be frozen and then baked closer to the holiday. Last night, I made a batch of cinnamon swirl snickerdoodles. I'll be making more of those plus some peppermint chocolate chip in the next few days, then working on dough that doesn't do well in the freezer and the old family recipes nearer to Christmas.
I don't have too much new to report about writing. I'm continuing to work on the second book in the Dragons of Ivria series, still tentatively titled To Trust a Dragon Spy. I didn't make as much progress as I wanted last month (seriously, where did November go??), but I'm still working away at it. I've also booked the amazing Natasha Snow to do the cover—the cover of To Love the Dragon King is so amazing, and I can't wait to see what she'll come up with for this one. I'm also still playing around with the first book in my cozy witch series. No updates on release dates yet, but I'm still hoping for 2024 for both.
Happy holidays to all who are celebrating this month!

To Love the Dragon King
Once upon a time, before the hunts, dragons were plentiful in the world. Now they exist only in legend…except in the land of Ivria.
Featured Backlist Book of the Month
Love was nothing they expected, but everything they needed.
(This is my cozy fall/winter, warm-hug-in-book-form book!)
Currently Reading
I love reading holiday romances this time of year, and I'm starting with this one that I didn't get around to last year when it came out.
Monthly Book Rec
I've mentioned how much I love the books in R. Cooper's Familiar Spirits series before, but I had to recommend Holly & Oak this month, since it's set at winter solstice.
