Dear AlzAuthor,

Thanks for your contributions to AlzAuthors. We appreciate every author's story, each Facebook and LinkedIn share, Instagram like and comment, and retweet. Our goal is to connect writers to readers seeking the best resources created from personal experience with Alzheimer's and dementia. As you read our weekly emails and follow our social media posts, please continue to share our content across your own platforms, including any online or in-person support groups you attend. In this newsletter you’ll find two virtual events in the works, one for you and one for your readers. Share widely: there are millions of caregivers out there starving for information and insight, and we have it. Remember: you are not alone, on either the caregiver or the author journey.

Introducing

In her powerful story Finding The Right Words, Cindy Weinstein shares a beautiful collaboration of literature and science to help us understand Alzheimer's disease.

Cindy writes:

My goal was to write a book that told the individual story of my father, his illness me, a girl from New Jersey who loved literature, and also told a general story about people with dementia, their brains, and their caregivers.

On The Podcast

image

Season 8 starts this week with Barbara Ella Milton, Jr., Ph. D. a licensed clinical social worker who heeded the call when her mother asked for help after an Alzheimer's diagnosis. At the time, she was battling cancer, and asked herself three questions: Could I? Should I? Would I? In this episode, we discuss how she managed her mother’s care while managing her own, dealing with deep-rooted trust issues, becoming the conductor of an orchestra of help, and the 40 first dates of iterative grief. Start listening!

Start Networking: Join our Author Directory

image

AlzAuthors was founded for three authors to cross promote their dementia books so readers could better find them. This blossomed over six years into a network of 300+ authors spreading information about Alzheimer’s and dementia awareness and our own stories, books, blogs and other resources. As a contributor to AlzAuthors, you have the ability to connect with these authors to help cross promote your own work. Our directory makes it easy to find promo partners to help with blogging opportunities, newsletter swapping, social media shares, special events, and more. Inclusion in the directory is voluntary. If you would like to be available to others looking for partners please upload your contact information and links to your platform to the spreadsheet found here. This is a collaborative effort. Please do not share this document with others outside our network.
