If you’re new to this email, welcome! We’re glad you’re here. We email twice a month with news of our latest author, podcast, and events to guide the dementia caregiving journey, and sometimes to announce special events. Feel free to share what you see here with others concerned about Alzheimer's and dementia. You may unsubscribe at anytime below.

Hello ,

Thank you for being an integral part of AlzAuthors. We appreciate you, your story, and your willingness to share your caregiving experience.

What began in 2015 as a small project to promote our own books has grown into a valuable, global resource for Alzheimer's and dementia caregivers. Over the last decade, we have proudly shared our platform with nearly 400 authors, launched a podcast and YouTube channel, hosted discussions, and connected with incredible people dedicated to this cause. It has been a thrilling and challenging journey, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve others through the power of shared stories. Now, however, after 10 years, we've reached a turning point.

Our Next Steps: Transition and Preservation

At the heart of this endeavor has always been you, our authors, who have generously shared your time and stories across our platforms. It is for this reason we want you to be the first to know of our next steps.

The volunteer team managing AlzAuthors has decided to personally step back from our roles effective 12/31/2025. However, the valuable resource we have built will be preserved and will not disappear.

Here’s what you can expect in the future:

Website Transition: Our website, YouTube channel, and all resources are moving to All Home Care Matters, a platform built by our long-time friend and supporter, Lance Slatton. All links will continue to work, preserving years of work and ensuring potential readers can still discover you and your book or other resource:

  • Your work will remain accessible, including blog posts, panel discussions, and recordings on our podcast and YouTube channel
  • You can continue to use all AlzAuthors badges, images, and links
  • Our free resources (Caregiver Guides, Tip Sheets) will remain available

Podcast Continuity: The Untangling Alzheimer's and Dementia podcast exists because of the kindness and vision of our great friend and believer Christopher MacLellan at the Whole Care Network, a global network of care podcasts, blogs, videos, and more. It will remain on its current platform and all published episodes will continue to be available with the same links across all major listening apps, including Apple, Spotify, iHeartRadio, etc.

Continuing the Mission: In 2026, our co-founder, Marianne Sciucco, will continue to work with Lance Slatton to bring new books and authors to AlzAuthors. We will also continue to host a monthly Featured Author podcast, offer periodic panel discussions, and maintain our active social media presence.

We hope that you understand our decision to personally step back from AlzAuthors and will continue to support our work in its new iteration. It has been our passion project to serve you and to bring your work to a wider audience.

Connecting caregivers with quality resources has always been our mission and that will never change.

Thank you.

Marianne, Jean, Vicki, Ann, Susan, and Christy

Share Your Story! Expose Dementia is Seeking Submissions for a New Caregiver Anthology

imageC. Nathaniel Brown, aka "Chuck," is founder and Executive Director of Expose Dementia Inc., a nonprofit organization created to utilize the arts and media to educate about dementia, erase stigma, and advocate for those living with dementia and their care partners. His film, The Present, is featured in our 2025 film festival.

Expose Dementia Inc. will publish a compilation of essays tentatively titled Voices from the Other Side of Memory: Caregivers Speak. This powerful anthology brings together the raw, unfiltered voices of caregivers who have walked the often invisible and emotionally complex path of caring for loved ones living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Through personal essays, letters, poems, and reflections, Voices from the Other Side of Memory captures the deeply human side of caregiving—marked by love, frustration, sacrifice, resilience, and profound transformation.

From adult children navigating reversed roles, to spouses witnessing the slow disappearance of lifelong partners, to grandchildren stepping into unexpected responsibilities, each story reveals the unique challenges and quiet triumphs of caregiving. Some authors share the day-to-day struggles of advocating for their loved ones, while others reflect on grief, healing, and life after loss.
