Hello ,
Summer winds down, as it must. I find myself wishing I could just rewind to the first of June and do it all over again. I never wish that for the other seasons. Summer is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it - even the heat - but especially the downtime to relax, read, and take long walks without bundling up in a coat, hat, scarf, gloves, boots (I see thatβs just around the corner. Sigh .... ) Don't we all have one season we prefer over the others?
Our podcast guest this week is Rayna Neises, author of No Regrets: Hope for Your Caregiving Season, who asks us to think of our caregiving years as βa season of life.β Have you ever thought of it that way? Like most seasons, caregiving comes to its own natural conclusion, opening up a new, yet to be explored, season. Please listen as Rayna shares with us her personal dementia story caring for two parents during two different seasons of life, and what she learned. Sheβll show you how to:
- Embrace the enlightening concept of caregiving as a pivotal life season, rather than a mere duty;
- Navigate the complex landscape of dementia care, unveiling truths that may transform your understanding of caregiving;
- Acknowledge the urgent need for advanced planning and transparent conversations around personal care choices;
- Discover that faith-based support groups may offer much-needed comfort in this demanding journey.

Our Latest Author: Lyndy Downs
Lyndy tells us:
I wrote His Strength In Me, because, over my 30+-year caregiving journey, I learned that despite my early years of not acknowledging Godβs presence, strength, and provision in my life He was there nonetheless.
I have known what it feels like to be drowning in my endless sea of despair and doubt, yet saved by miraculous moments of strength and an assuredness that could only come from God.
I hope that by sharing my experiences and those of my mother (as illustrated in my motherβs journal entries), others will find that they are not alone regarding the ongoing battles, emotions, and feelings that accompany caring for loved ones suffering from devastating diseases. I pray that my story will help you to recognize and embrace His strength in you.

Please join us. And please share the link to this blog post and registration info across your own websites, blogs, social media, podcasts, and online and in person support groups. All are welcome.
