Hello ,
One of my favorite pastimes is discovering new quality works for the AlzAuthors collection of resources for caregivers. They can come from anywhere: newsletters in my inbox, social media, friends in dementia world, newspapers, magazines, and the authors themselves. I discovered this week's author, Dana Walrath, and her graphic memoir Aliceheimer's while watching the documentary Keys Bags Names Words. I was intrigued by her gentle ways, her artistry, and her story of caring for her mother, Alice, who had Alzheimer's. I checked her book out of my local library, went through our review process, and was thrilled when Dana accepted my invitation to write a blog post for us. Sometimes the authors don’t respond to my invitations, and a few have declined. It is an honor and a privilege to present these works to you, whether it's a book, blog, podcast, or film. I hope you enjoy Aliceheimer's. It is a truly unique perspective on Alzheimer's, and a medium we have not yet included in our collection. Looking forward to the next great find!
