Hello ,

On this Giving Tuesday, we at AlzAuthors are proud of the work we are doing on behalf of those in the dementia community. Because we have loved ones who have experienced life with Alzheimer’s and dementia, we understand the many challenges inherent in caregiving. No one can do this work alone. And we thank you for supporting us. With your help, we have accomplished much this year.   

AlzAuthors 2024 Achievements

• We launched a new website in June with a new look and improvements in navigation; we hired a professional website management firm
• A new anthology was published in June, Poetry for the Dementia Journey, that includes 43 poets and 117 poems written by caregivers about their dementia experience 
• 22 new authors and books were added to the collection
• 25 podcast episodes were uploaded to our podcast channels and YouTube Channel
• We hosted 5 Virtual Events: 
• Dementia & The Arts (January)
• Poetry for the Dementia Journey Book Launch (April)
• LGBTQ+ Caregiver Concerns (June) 
• Caring for a Wife with Dementia (September)
• Caring for Two Parents with Dementia at the Same Time (November)
• All were recorded and posted to our podcast and YouTube channel
• We participated in Dementia Spring’s 2024 Dementia ARTS Festival in New York City (April)
• Books & Chit Chat, our monthly book club with Aging & Amazing, launched in January, featuring 12 authors; all discussions recorded and posted to our podcast and YouTube channels
• Featured Author status launched in September with new authors receiving a blog post, podcast, and social media blast celebrating their books. Limited to 12 new books per year.
• Recommended Reads launched in October, featuring quality books not selected for Featured Author status.
• We initiated new partnerships:
• Featured on Dementia TLC, an AllHomeCareMatters.com resource for caregivers
• Added podcast to Babyboomer.org
• We continued our partnerships with the Whole Care Network, Health Podcast Network, and Kensington Senior Living
• We were chosen as one of the top 80 Best Dementia Blogs and Websites to follow in 2024

Any donations through the end of the year will be matched by anonymous donors (up to a total of $4,000). All donors will receive a free PDF of Poetry for the Dementia Journey.
