A Culture of Giving - How the Pasifika Culture has it right!

Hey !
I wanted to highlight my most popular post - The Culture of Giving - because of the state of the workplace since we've entered the post-pandemic era! More organizations have come to realize the importance of being a giver, in a world that requires a little more passion. Our cultures have had this aspect ingrained within it since time began on our little islands and I think we need to start introducing this into our workplaces!
The concept of giving has been embedded into our Pasifika culture for millennia. Now is the time for us to apply it into our business culture as well.
🗒️ Finding Success Starts With Finding Your Purpose
Don’t wait until you’re at the top of your field to live a flourishing, more meaningful life. Start now! This was such a great article by John Coleman, that was featured in the Harvard Business Review. He emphasizes the need for us to find purpose early on in life and to always keep that in mind as we strive to have success. He ends the article with the quote:
"Don’t wait until you’re at the top of your field or late in life to live a flourishing, more meaningful life. Instead, start now — whether you are 15, 25, or 55 — and put serious thought into what will make your life meaningful, joyful, and fulfilled."
🗒️ 7 ways HR will look different in 2022
The only certainty is uncertainty and in the field of HR, changes have been a'coming! Lars Schmidt writes about how HR will be almost unrecognizable from its old "back-office" days, with its transformation being accelerated by the pandemic. This is such a great read for those of us that have a stake in understanding businesses and how people are the greatest assets of a company. It is also such an important insight into the future of the workplace and I would for all of us to understand how it could affect us!
🤔 Updates and Plans
I have been thinking of creating a small podcast that will discover ideas, concepts, and innovations of the future and how they could be used in the Pasifika context!
Imagine the Pasifika being a hub of talent and knowledge for the West. Imagine a future where regional products are household brands in the virtual worlds being created now. Imagine a Pasifika that holds enough political power to have a seat at the table on topics such as International Trade, Climate Change, and Development.
The title (unofficially) is "Pasifika Re-Imagined" and the hope is that I can get leading regional thinkers to share their thoughts about the possibility of the concepts, from around the world, that I will pose to them.
I have been trying to organically grow this email newsletter so I would love to hear from y'all! Your suggestions, thoughts, and ideas about what I could improve on would be greatly appreciated. We also have a Referral campaign going on and so get on that to win awesome prizes!
