Salaam alaikum warahamtullah wabraktu (peace ladies!)
Have you noticed the recent celebrity deaths from illnesses like cancer and diabetes? It makes you wonder about their self-care routines. Did they struggle with prioritizing their well-being, just like many of us?
A few of you, through YouTube comments and emails, have asked how to navigate difficult relationships while staying true to your Islamic values and being a good person. Dealing with challenging family members like parents or in-laws can be especially tricky.
I've personally faced this issue, and in today's video, I'll share an experience that helped me learn about boundaries. Remember, every situation is unique, and your needs will vary.
Important clarification: I'm not suggesting you copy my exact approach. My goal is to encourage you to reflect on what you truly need to find inner peace.
Honest disclosure: In this particular situation, I had to step away from the relationship for my own health. My body started exhibiting unexplainable symptoms. Once I distanced myself, things returned to normal (stay tuned for future content exploring our mind-body connection, insha Allah).
I realized that staying in that relationship would harm my health, potentially leading to illness. That wasn't okay for me or my young daughters who depend on me.
