The first time I recognized my own wants, I was overwhelmed by shame. But it wasn't the desire itself that was shameful. It was the realization that acknowledging my wants meant acknowledging a deeper part of myself. This newfound self-awareness brought up a wave of unexpected emotions.
You might be surprised to learn what I wanted: a particular font that resonated with me on a deep level. It helped me feel more connected to my authentic self.
