What do you do when you can't escape a toxic family member?
Narcissistic family members often employ manipulative tactics like gaslighting to control and undermine others, leading to feelings of confusion, self-doubt, and low self-esteem. Their lack of empathy and understanding can make individuals feel misunderstood and unsupported. Additionally, narcissistic individuals frequently violate personal boundaries, invading privacy and disregarding others' needs. This toxic behavior can create a dysfunctional family environment characterized by conflict, tension, and emotional distress.
There are many ways on how to deal with this issue, but the one which I talk a little more about in today video is boundaries- and no, not in the way you might be used to hearing.
The boundaries I talk about are called ninja boundaries and they are a powerful tool to use with people who just don't get it- or choose not to.
