Salaam alaikum warahamtullah wabraktu (peace ladies!)
Ever feel drained, stressed, or run down? It might not be just a busy life.
People-pleasing tendencies can be a major, hidden culprit behind health problems.
We often underestimate the impact of constantly putting others' needs before our own. This can lead to:
- Chronic stress: Saying yes to everything takes a toll.
- Poor sleep: Worrying about others can leave you tossing and turning.
- Unhealthy habits: Skipping meals, neglecting exercise, or unhealthy coping mechanisms.
- Resentment: Bottling up your needs can lead to anger and bitterness.
Your body has a way of telling you when you're neglecting it. Learn to listen! Pay attention to:
- Physical symptoms: Headaches, fatigue, digestive issues.
- Emotional signs: Irritability, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed.
- Behavioral changes: Withdrawing from loved ones, neglecting hobbies.
Sisters, I wish I had known this a long time ago, but I am also grateful I can share it with you. There's a difference between being helpful and righteous, and people-pleasing. Standing up for what's right and advocating for yourself and others is healthy. People-pleasing, however, is about sacrificing your own needs for external validation.
This week's video dives deep into the connection between people-pleasing and health. You'll learn:
- How to identify people-pleasing behavior.
- The impact on your physical and mental well-being.
- One small practical strategy you can do today to prioritize your needs (without guilt!).

And to add some extra sparkle to your Eid, here's a special
