Salaam alaikum warahamtullah wabraktu (peace ladies!)
As we navigate the beauty and introspection of Ramadan, let's turn our attention to a concept that can sometimes hinder our growth: the lasting impact of trauma. Traumatic experiences can leave deep imprints, influencing our behaviors and interactions even after the event.
Today I will be talking about the impact of trauma on Israel and discussing two key aspects of their legacy: narcissism and reenactment.
Narcissism: While often perceived as self-absorption, narcissism can also stem from a place of deep-seated trauma. A challenging childhood might lead someone to develop an inflated sense of self as a way to protect themselves. This can make building healthy relationships more difficult.
Reenactment: This refers to the unconscious tendency to repeat patterns from a traumatic experience in our present lives. For example, someone who experienced emotional neglect in childhood might struggle with intimacy in adulthood, subconsciously recreating a sense of distance.
In this episode, we'll delve deeper into the concept of reenactment in light of Israel.
This message is also available in an audio format for your convenience.
May these last ten days of Ramadan be filled with peace, blessings, and meaningful acts of kindness.
With love and peace,
